Mark it down in the skies,
When I focused my eyes and I found what was real and what was true.
I no longer felt the need to look back on my deeds and beat myself til I was black and blue.
A heavy weight was lifted as I felt my soul shift to adjust to the light that has filled my life.
Now, I shudder to recall how I almost lost it all in the act of desperation against the strife.
I’ve been to the pit, you see.
A most frightening place to be,
your nightmares in a loop and in a line.
They echo out your mistakes until it’s more that you can take
and you reach for your vice to make you fine.
The light of which I speak,
is simply what we all seek,
to be soothed, centered and whole.
Faith will guide you to a space,
a peaceful uplifting place that will see you through it all to the goal.
